This website went online on November 16, 2006.
That was 3 days ago.
I was just made aware of the fact that in the first three days after establishing this website we have had a total number of 728 visitors from over 8 countries, generating over 32.000 hits and downloading almost 6GB of data!
I even had some schools asking if they could use the material in class.
Yes, please do so!
You do not have to ask as long as you do not intent to use the sign language alphabets commercially. But of course it is wonderful for me to get feedback and to know who is using the material. I might be including a gallery, so if you want, just send me an image showing how you implemented the alphabets. If you include your name and your website, I will gladly link to you. Remember, please, to link back to this page in order to improve the Google-ranking, thus making it easier for others to find this site.
The sole purpose of Fingeralphabet.org is to provide FREE manual alphabeths – from as many countries as possible, as correctly as possible, for as many people as possible. This is a private project with no marketing budget, so I depend on word-of-mouth. No doubt the quick spreading of the message in the last 3 days is an achievement of Taubenschlag, a huge german plattform for deaf people, which launched an article about fingeralphabet.org last week. Thank you Bernd, I can’t tell how grateful I am for this!
Thanks again – you all just made my weekend!
